HER [SINGLE RELEASE EVENT]

Dripping with melancholy, the new Xaysha (@xayshamusic) track falls somewhere between Travis Scott’s Skyfall instrumental and Jhene Aiko’s ethereal vocals. Her is a sombre offering from the r&b artist, who sings about wanting to be the object of another’s desire. The track is produced by Sydney’s unofficial OVO representative ANTNY (@antnyofficial), who crafts a brooding sonic backdrop for the vocalist’s unrequited love. The track was debuted at Xaysha’s release party held at The Ox in Darlinghurst alongside performances from fellow artists including Ebony Rose (@ebonyrosemusic_) and Nikki (@soundsofnikki)

Xaysha performed to a sold out event, giving the audience a taste of her range and versatility. Covering everything from ballads to bad-bitchery, the singer rounded off her set with a soulful rendition of her newest single. The performance was complemented with full choreography to match the explosive energy of the singer’s performance. The release party was a testament to the pockets of talent in Sydney’s music industry and the ability for artists to facilitate organic growth. Additionally, the presence of chicken skewers is a traditional that I’d like to see every artist include in their launch parties.

Her itself is a deeply introspective song. Over the span of the track, Xaysha lays out her emotive argument and begs for her lover to forget the past. The dreamlike delivery of the vocals finds the perfect balance between attitude and deep romance, allowing the singer to jump between feelings with ease. Lush harmonies and backing vocals create the perfect haunting soundscape for those late night drives.

Expect more from Xaysha in the coming months. With such a dedicated following, her name is sure to be populating festival bills and headline shows in no time.
